I'm surprised no one has commented on Robert Dryden. He had a distinctive voice, which is harder to vary into different characters without still sounding like himself. Yet he was the best, hands down, at doing just that. I guess those of us who have listened to these hundreds of episodes can spot his voice most any time, but I still marvel at how many characters he could play in the same episode and you still felt you were listening to different people.

I have loved this show for so many years, and Robert's voice definitely was a huge part of that.. A great ability to taylor his voice to whatever part it was he was playing.. And for a blind fan, as I am, this is quite awesome.

When I think about the great vocal talent on CBSRMT I'm always think about Robert Dryden, Norman Rose, Mason Adams, and Mercedes McCambridge. I know there were many others, but anytime I hear recordings of those voices anywhere else, my mind goes right back to RMT.

Clark

It is hard to pin down one best character since he did so many.

Bob Dryden also starred in The National Lampoon's Radio Hour (1974-1976) as well as I Love a Mystery

What a fantastic vocal talent this man was! He has the widest vocal range of any actor on RMT hands down. He could play anything from young guys to old wizards to hard boiled cops, to con men, always convincingly. The most versatile actor of them all in my opinion.

Robert Dryden turned in many masterful performances during the run of CBSRMT... Right near the top I would place his character 'Handsome Harry' from 'Medium Rare,' episode 141 from 1974 Brilliant!

These are grear bios, helps me put faces to the voices. The only ones I could picture were Glynnis O'Conner, Howard De Silva (because I saw "Unconquered"), and Kim Hunter (because I read a lot about POtA). I discovered Terri Keane and Larry Haines from listening to CBSRMT...now their voices seem like old friends.

Cindy

So loved Robert Dryden! Thank you for making my childhood and now adult hood richer. Favorite Dryden episodes: the ghost grey bat and the judge’s house.

Mr. Dryden was probably the best radio actor that ever was. His ability to be whoever he needed to be second to none. I had to convert my CD'S to mp4' and buy an older IPOD to listen to them after buying a new car. I am about halfway through. I have converted my wife and grandchildren from total ignorance of the show to total fans.

Robert was great. He could change rapid-fire into different types of people like it was nothing! :-)
