Creepy story. Didn't like the ending. Well acted, though.

Episodes 789 & 1124 are also called "Second Sight." This one features the most naturalistic performance by Robert Dryden I've ever heard. (He uses a heavy accent for his secondary role, the sculptor.)

I rate this episode ★★★★★ for EXCELLENT. This story, written by James Agate, Jr., is what I call "Shockingly Entertaining!" An Eye-popping, hair-raising, jaw-dropping mystery tale that it ranks up with #0367-THE SUMMER PEOPLE, #0167-THE BLACK ROOM, and #1245-THE JUDGE’S HOUSE. The Title of this works, but another way to title it would be "The Art Of Murder" because that's exactly what happened: murder committed in an artistic way. The sound effects of the airplane engine, flipping pages of the drawing pad, the TV set on, charcoal drawing, oriental music playing at the Chinese restaurant, doorbell, radio music, dialing of the rotary phone, chipping of marble gravestones, thunder from the rainstorm, and the sharpening of the chisels were useful. And the music was "dead-on" when they played tracks to build up the tension, suspense, and horror. Slowly, but effectively. For example, the music tracks being played at the 18-minute mark, the 21-minute mark, and the best part of all: the music at the 42-minute mark; hauntingly good! Now E.G. Marshall does an interesting take in his intro; for he ask CBSRMT fans into the "Land of the Uncharted & unknown and it will be worth our while." In ACT-1, after discussing the supposed situations, our Host warned us that this tale is "a strange coincidence." In ACT-2, he brings up the classic tale of "The 3 Blind Men & the Elephant" and it fits well for this CBSRMT episode because it illustrates a mixture of truths and provides insight (hence--a Second Sight). In ACT-3, E.G. Marshall talks about what he use to believe in before hosting CBSRMT. In the end, he gave us the shocking ending. In his Epilogue, he discusses certain rules we accept on Earth, such as gravity, weather, his voice speaking to us even though we are all far away and we'll experience other facts of life & death by using a "Second Sight." Bravo on your narrations, E.G. Marshall. And bravo to our cast: Michael Tolan (as Allan Harvey & the TV News Reporter), Joan Shay (as Peggy Johnson & Mary Muerte), Robert Dryden (as Jacob Greer & Julian Muerte), and Earl Hammond (as Dr. Marvin Kingsley & Arthur Lewis). SPECIAL NOTE: Himan Brown plays the role of Charlie in this. Kudos to James Agate, Jr. for writing characters that are named "Muerte" which is Spanish for "Death." Listen to the way Earl Hammond gasp at the 28-minute mark; it will leave you "breathless." And I'd give mad props to Michael Tolan for stealing the show. I was stunned by the way he said, "We're all failures. That is why we die" at the 42-minute 33-second mark. Dark choice of words, but they match with the character's persona. This is another episode that I highly, highly recommend. Plus, it has the commercials of Quality Inn and Digel Antacid. This type of mystery is something you'd enjoy listening to many times over. It's worth pointing out that the conclusion of the drama is closely based on the short story "August Heat" by W.F. Harvey (indirectly acknowledged through the name of the main character here), which was previously adapted for the radio show 'Suspense'.

I generally listen to RMT as a wind down at the end of the day. This episode kept me on edge the whole time. Scary and unexpected twist at the end. Excellent sound quality. Good story. Thank you for providing these shows.

Michael tolan was a great performer..so many great shows he performed on with CBS mystery theater

Very intriguing and suspenseful story with great acting! One of the best I have listened to thus far!
