What an awful story. It figures that it's an Elspeth Eric episode. She fills her stories with weirdos. The wife is a fool.

As I listened, I was trying to guess what would happen. My own theory was wrong--I thought maybe Billy was actually a dog who had somehow become human. Sometimes the feeling of the story outweighs how interesting or clever the ending is.

I thought this was bittersweet. The wife was a bit naive, but maybe it was hormones and she was only 20. A nice ending. I, too, for a moment thought we was going to be the old family dog. Worth a listen when you don't want high drama, ghosts and whodunnits.

I don't understand why some people just don't like Elspeth Eric. I partially judge stories by whether or not the hold my attention, and this one did. t wasn't a bad story. In real life, there are weirdos and fools, but I don't think either appeared in this one to an extreme.
