A "pillar of the community" type finds himself framed for swindling and murder when he wins a free trip to Mexico.

Mike Kong

A newspaper carries a feel-good story of a generous and civic minded man and holds him up as a paragon of American values. Despite being besieged with calls and notes from well-wishers, they are surprised when one note offers them an all-expenses paid holiday to Mexico. Reluctant at first to capitalize on what he sees as only the responsibility of any good citizen, they do decide to go and are met at the airport by a rough character who says he has been sent to pick them up. When asked where they are going, he merely replies that he is taking them for 'a ride'

A good story where I wasn't sure how it was going to end. Interestingly Joe Silver didn't play the mobster in this one as he usually got typecast for. I think it was a good decision.

I think I've heard the "halo" line here as many times as E.G. quoted Robert Burns' "best laid plans" lines. Sheesh. It was a good story, though, and Joe Silver was very strong as a regular for once.
