Didn't Norman do kids' records?

paul

Like many of these great under payed actors, Norman always delivered. His voice was a rich deep baritone that added a sense of dignity and aged wisdom to whatever role he portrayed. Definitely one of the better actors RMT had to offer.

Mark C.

He was referred to quite often by his voice-actor peers 'The Voice of God'. Norman Rose is possibly my favorite actor of any of the repeat players in the series. His voice, manner, his acting, all so uniquely his.

Mike C.

Norman Rose is my favorite RMT actor and he did such a good job with the German/Austrian accent of the ski instructor that I didn't realize it was him until I heard the closing credits.

John

Best voice in radio--

Jon hendryj

My all time favorite RMT actor has to be Norman Rose, his voice is so sophisticated yet distinctive and versatile.

Norman Rose (June 23, 1917 – November 12, 2004) was an American actor, film narrator and radio announcer whose velvety baritone was often called "the Voice of God" by colleagues. He was best known as the voice of fictitious coffee grower Juan Valdez in the Colombian coffee television commercials and the announcer-narrator of NBC's Dimension X.[ After the WWII, Rose lent his distinctive voice to radio programs such as Dimension X and CBS Radio Mystery Theater. He narrated the short film Harold and the Purple Crayon in 1959, and provided several of the voices on the 1963 CBS cartoon Tennessee Tuxedo and His Tales. From 1969 to 1974, Rose stepped in front of the camera to portray the same character—psychiatrist Dr. Marcus Polk—on two ABC soap operas (One Life to Live and All My Children). He also appeared in the soap operas The Edge of Night and Search for Tomorrow. Nicknamed “The Voice of God” by colleagues because of his deep, recognizable voice, Rose was cast as something akin, actually the voice of "Death" in Woody Allen’s 1975 comedy Love and Death. Rose’s other film work includes Woody Allen's Radio Days and the narration for director Kinji Fukasaku’s Message from Space (1978), narrating the English dub of the 1968 Soviet Union production of War and Peace and Ishiro Honda’s Destroy All Monsters, as well as a newsreel announcer in Mike Nichols’ Biloxi Blues (1988). On screen he was seen in The Joe Louis Story (1953),The Violators (1957), Jump (1971), Sidney Lumet’s The Anderson Tapes (1971), Who Killed Mary What’s Her Name? (1971) and Martin Ritt's The Front (1976) (also starring Woody Allen). He also narrated the 1989 film documentary, How Hitler Lost the War , produced by David Hoffman.

Norman Rose had a 60+ year entertainment career, working extensively in radio during the 40s, 50s and 60s, including numerous appearances on New World A'Coming, Ave Maria Hour, Eternal Light, The Greatest Story Ever Told, Dimension X, X-Minus One and Theater Five. He appeared in a number of Broadway productions and in over 70 films and television programs. His television credits include the daytime soap operas, Search For Tomorrow, The Edge Of Night, All My Children, Love Of Life and One Life To Live. His film credits include Biloxi Blues, Woody Allen's Love And Death and The Front and The Anderson Tapes. But by far he is best remembered for his work as a voice actor and narrator. He was the voice of Juan Valdez in the coffee commercials and voiced many cartoon characters on shows such as Tennessee Tuxedo. He dubbed foreign movies into English, recorded books for the blind and did voice-overs for countless commercials and sports and commercial videos.

I love him! I loved his deep, soothing voice. He did have that deep baritone voice, which made him highly sought after for voice over and narrator work.
