"Death at a Distance" was an episode that was actually scary. Though Mystery Theater claims each episode contains a "fear you can hear" most episodes evoke little to no fear. This episode which revolved around voodoo was a scary one. Elspeth Eric wrote many episodes for CBSRMT, most of which are creative romances. Definitely not the case here. Well acted and casted except for the actor who played Gemma; their voice was hysterical and worth listening for. Good episode for sure.

It was only "a fear you can hear" during the much earlier episodes, before Tammy Grimes took over as host.

Great episode, very scary indeed. The end of the recording announces the death of John Belushi.
