This is a remake of "The Pleading Voice" from 1977. OK, but no real need to redo.

Those were the most atrocious fake accents I've ever heard. The one man was a cross between Sean Connery and Dracula.

I am grateful for your information that this was first broadcast on October 27, 1982, and there was no repeat airing of this episode on January 1, 1970. That would have upset the first episode called #1 from claiming to be first broadcast on January 6, 1974.
