Tricky to evaluate. Adapted several classics for CBSRMT, which were often terrific tales and drew top acting talent. Many of his originals are simply okay. This demonstrates that he knew how to get the most out of the timeslot, three-act structure, and cast limitations, but didn't always have the cleverest ideas on his own...

In a way, he is sort of the M. Night Shyamalan of CBSRMT. *SPOILER* Blizzard of Terror, Journey Into Terror, The Lodger, and Death on Skis all sort of have the same ending (Blizzard’s isn’t *exactly* the same, but it’s quite close). Even still, I think Lowthar excelled at the format. Even if he has the unenviable reputation as the ‘twist’ guy (thereby ensuring he’ll never surprise you), his episodes and adaptations are still a lot of fun to listen to.
