A tender story of the love that can only be shared between a man and his bus. Forsaking his wife, his friends, putting his career in jeopardy, the protagonist is intimately aware of all the functions and eccentricities of the new bus on his run.

I remember listening to this on WHIO 1290, back in '76!

Wow, this is an amazing story. I had seen a program about a woman who fell in love with a tower, and a guy had a thing for his red sports car. I mean they were besotted with these inanimate objects. This story is actually pretty realistic! There are some unusual relationships in this world!

I think we just got taken for a ride... That bad pun being said, this wasn't a bad episode. It was interesting on how the relationships were built and how they deteriorated over the length of the story. As Nancy said, there are some unusual relationships in this world.

Wife Margie and best friend Jerry think Eddie O’Brien needs psychiatric care for the undue attention he pays to the new bus he drives #2792. He even leaves his wife every night at midnight to clean and repair it. When Jerry, who drives #2792 on the night shift, gets involved in a collision and causes excessive wear on the clutch, Eddie threatens to kill him if he’s not more careful with the vehicle.
