Sam Dann may have written the best farce in the CBSRMT series. Much better than his other farces, such as #0529-THE MIDAS TOUCH and #0863-THE VILLAGE OF FOOLS. One clever thing he wrote was the acronym for D.O.M.I.N.O. at the 35-minute 53-second mark, which stands for "Disrupting Obstructing Maintaining International Nihilist Organization". E.G. Marshall did excellent work on telling this story that included a shocking twist at the end, but the ending was more whacky than suspenseful. The witty music fit perfectly in this tale, but not enough sound effects for the whale sounds. SPECIAL NOTE: The name of the whale goes by the name of "Spartacus". But the best part of all, was the cast: Joan Shay (as Agatha Porcelain), Leon Janney (as Digby Porcelain), Earl Hammond (as Luther Flensing), and William Griffis (as Mr. Follansbee). I can't think of any one that could play these roles terrifically like these 4 did. If you like this episode, check out #0644-MUCH TOO MUCH (adapted from Leo Tolstoy) by Gerald Keane

Russell

Silly, but surprisingly prescient regarding animal rights movement.

Fun little episode with some quirky twists. Enjoyable characters. A mystery all the same.

Loved the CBS Mystery Theather! Use to listen to WHAM-1180 AM at 10:07 PM the news ended and E. G. Marshall came on. Through Junior and Senior high school. My brother and I stayed up and listened in bed. Was better than anything on television. Pictures and video created in the windows in your mind. GREAT STUFF!

I also grew up listening to WHAM-1180! I would usually fall asleep after the first act. I would then have to wait months or years for the episode to be repeated. Now I never miss an ending. Thank you for all the episodes!

Thomas

Silly and somewhat amusing. I gave it a thumbs-up despite my better judgment. LOL
