This is my second favorite episode. My favorite is episode 276, The Diamond Necklace. This episode the man is very wealthy but he has no job skills but he knows how to make money. Made most of his fortune in Wall Street. This episode is a romantic story as well. This story proves in one community you could be rich and another be poor. The moral of this story it is one thing to own and another to have.

The Acquisition started off slow, but made up for the boredom with a fantastic ending. Romance--not done frequently on Mystery Theater, but played out beautifully in this episode.

I gave this episode five stars. This episode is in my top ten. A wealthy businessman has no job skills but is one of the richest men in the world. He just knows how to make money on his investments which is of no help on an island. This episode is full of romance and of course she falls for him in the end.

Btw…some of us would love to hear your top 10. This one rates high for me as well.

I think that this episode shows how important it is to be a jack of all trades type of individual. You can't just stick to one skill and expect to get through life. It also proves that you can't buy happyness with money. I was taught by my father that when you get a job, you need to learn everyone's job. Otherwise you would be likely to be laid off when the company starts to struggle. This episode definately puts that lesson to practice.

Dude, if you're gleaning life lessons from RMT you're doing it wrong.

Actually, there is a lot of wisdom in CBSRMT. One can learn a lot. Of course, one shouldn't learn about being evil, lol! But the lesson of this episode is a good one.

Yes I agree this is a absolute fantastic episode I like the romance in it but I also like the adventure, marooned on desert island and that sort of stuff so if anyone can tell me the best 10 episodes of CBS I would be most grateful as there is so many to choose from and I've only been listening a few months now....

The dialogue between the business man and the woman was so clever. The "marriage proposal" was so funny, lol! This is a very good episode with a good lesson for modern times.

Amy

Great story that hits close to home, as I personally know several people who could definitely benefit from actually leaning what work is.
