Fred Gwynne is excellent in this one. No stuttering, blustering, or shouting, which for me, tend to bring on memories of his Herman Munster character. Here he is slow, controlled, ominous and eerie. Listen to this one at night by candlelight. Chills!

Great episode. Fred Gwynne really nails his performance in this one. I got lucky enough that it was storming outside as I listened to this tale in bed. Perfect atmosphere for this creepy story!

Fred Gwynne hits it out of the park yet again with this one, playing a strange man who fancies himself a great magus. Well, he doesn't just "fancy" himself one; he is one. And he has a servant woman whose daughter becomes enraptured by him. Very eerie and creepy, this one is among my favorites.
