A dapper older gentleman pursues wealthy widows for marriage. When he is tired of them he moves on to another one. The son of one such widow has learned of this man's intentions and his plans to marry another widow. Since he is still married, this will be bigamy and he solicits the support of the local police who are investigating his shenanigans. Informing his mother, he is surprised at her response. The episode refers to a poem by Thomas Carew. He That Loves a Rosy Cheek by Thomas Carew He that loves a rosy cheek, Or a coral lip admires, Or from star-like eyes doth seek Fuel to maintain his fires: As old Time makes these decay, So his flames must waste away. But a smooth and steadfast mind, Gentle thoughts, and calm desires, Hearts with equal love combined, Kindle never-dying fires: Where these are not, I despise Lovely cheeks or lips or eyes.

This could have been a good episode, if it had focused more on its theme of older women knowing they were being lied to by younger lovers, but preferring that to being alone. Instead, the episode tried to be a mystery/thriller, and it failed. The story played out in obvious fashion, relying solely on a "surprise" ending. But I had the "surprise" figured out by the middle of Act One. It was rather obvious.

I agree with Thomas that it could've been better with a different focus, but it was an okay story. I did tire of hearing Russell Horton worrying about the next victim and his repetitive conversations with his mother.
