Very good sci-fi episode!

This episode reminded me of "The Stepford Wives" and "Invasion of the Body Snatchers". I always enjoy stories in which a person suspects there is something not quite right about his/her spouse or acquaintance. The ending was surprising and well done.

This was one of the first ones I ever taped as a kid, very eerie and in retrospect very reminiscent of "The Outer Limits". I enjoyed the subtle clues suggesting the personality "shifts"-- particularly the use of a number instead of a name when refering to one's spouse. One thing, which has always bugged me,though, is why does Janet return to the Doctor-- after she's heard him refer to his own wife this way? And, then, trust him enough to be drugged? After all that has happened, up to this point, including the "accidental" drowning of Betty, it doesn't make a great deal of sense. Well, at least in the end, it's a happy ending (In a twisted sort of way) for Janet-- who is reunited with her real husband on Arcturus. For Celia, though, the nightmare was just beginning....What became of her? I could see her ending up in a mental institution as she continued to try to warn everyone of a secret "invasion" (A nice nod, as already mentioned, to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers") I wonder if Celia ever learned of the true nature of the mystery surrounding her? I enjoy open ended finales such as these. That's what makes a true classic RMT..... Until Next Time....................
