Mr Battista had a bubbly, friendly voice. Christina Crawford went to school with him. She stated in either the 20th or 30th anniversary of Mommie Dearest that he wanted to be an actor with every fiber of his being. He did it!

This guy has such a sexy voice, and a lot of range. I've seen him in movies, and he has a memorable, though very small, part in Woody Allen's "Love and Death," which is an overlooked gem in his body of work. It's hilarious. Lloyd is a favorite of mine, and my knees do tremble a bit when I hear that voice.

Brian Collins

One of my favorite CBS Radio Mystery Theater actors is Lloyd Battista. He had a varied career and was something of a renaissance man. He worked consistently on stage, in films and television, but also was a screenwriter, poet, restaurant critic and a veteran. He wrestled with Flipper, was killed by John Wayne, in films with people as varied as Woody Alllen and Ringo Starr. He authored screenplays and was active as a screenwriter and actor in Spaghetti Westerns. He served in the Army with the Signal Corp in the Army Pictorial Center. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1937. He was in 43 episodes of CBS RMT from 1974-1982. As best I could find out he is still with us.

Dana

He was on Mission Impossible to. He did a great job

Jon

He had a bubbly, friendly voice, and he took acting classes with Christina Crawford. She stated he wanted to be an actor with "every fiber of his being." He made it.

If you can find it, I recommend "Last Plane Out" (1983) Lloyd Batista plays Somoza, the dictator of Nicaragua during that country's revolution in 1979. I haven't seen it in years, but Batista has memorable role in it. What a renaissance man.
